Acupuncture is the time tested therapy that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It's a part of Chinese medicine. The philosophy behind Acupuncture (Web site:  Wikipedia ) is that energy lines or meridians circulate around the body. These meridians contain our energy flow or “Qi” “”. It is when this Qi is impaired through the body that imbalance and illness occurs. With the insertion of fine needles at various points on the meridian, the energy can be moved or redirected to where it is needed most. In this way the body's balance can be restored and the illness resolved.

  1. A typical acupuncture session in AC clinic (Montreal) begins with a Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) diagnosis that can take from 40 minutes to one hour or more. It usually includes a review of the patient’s symptoms, an evaluation of the patient’s physical appearance , an assessment of diet and lifestyle, and, most importantly, observations of the pulse and tongue. This protocol enables the acupuncturist to identify the disharmony or imbalance, and then to select an appropriate treatment strategy.

  2. When receiving acupuncture, the patient generally lies on their back, front or side, depending on which part of the body is being treated. In some cases, it may be necessary to sit in a chair. Depended on the diagnosis, acupuncturist  selects the appropriate acupuncture points where the needles will be inserted.

  3. In Ac Clinic, we only use sterilized, disposable acupuncture needles for the treatment. The needles come in varying lengths and most are not much thicker than a hair. The choice of needle size is based on clinical judgement, and usually governed by the point being treated and the response the practitioner is seeking.  Top

Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) is an ancient medical system, which has been existing for thousands years in China. The theory of TCM is based on Chinese ancient knowledge of anatomy, physiology, herbal knowledge and clinic experience. In this system, doctors will diagnose patient with special techniques involved with detecting the patients'  symptoms, pulse, throat, tongue, color of the face, the sound of patient etc. After the doctor give a diagnosis, patient will receive treatment including herbal medicine, acupuncture or acupressure to get rid of the disease.

Chinese herbal medicine is integrated with Traditional Chinese Medicine and prescribes natural herbs based on a complex science of physiology and pathology. Each herb has specific interactions with the human body. In conjunction with acupuncture, herbs are blended to induce long-lasting changes in a natural process that promotes well-being(naturopathy) .

Chinese massage (Tui na) use varying manipulations to stimulate points and meridians according to different cause and symptoms for improving the function of meridians and regulating the circulation of blood and the flow of chi. Moreover, it can regulate the function of zang-fu organs through the induction of meridians to cure the disease.

Chinese whole body massage has a history of several thousand years. It is based on the theories of traditional Chinese Medicine. The main work areas are meridians and acupoints. The techniques used are strong or soft, and will promote not only the proper flow of the chi but also encourage good circulation of blood, and strengthen muscles, bones as well as connective tissues.

Is a healing technique using points and reflex zones on the feet or on the back that correspond to internal and external pathways of the body including the organs system.

Working these points with various techniques has shown to increase blood circulation, decrease stress levels, boost the digestive system and improve the nervous system.    Top
